Special Education Teacher – North Charleston, South Carolina
Local Pay: $56.42 /hour Travel Pay: Travel Rate (based on 37.5 hours): Hourly $21.72, Stipend (Lodging $966.00 + M&I $644.00) = $1,610.00 Total Comp:$2,478.80

Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement IEP goals and specially designed instruction (SDI) for students with disabilities.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to plan, deliver, and assess instruction in inclusive classroom settings.
- Provide accommodations, modifications, and evidence-based interventions to support student success.
- Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and maintain required compliance records.
- Participate in IEP meetings and communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Use data-driven decision-making to adjust instruction and improve student outcomes.
- Support students across a continuum of services, including inclusion, resource, self-contained, behavioral support, autism, and low-incidence disability programs depending on assignment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Hold or be eligible for a valid South Carolina teaching certificate in Special Education.
- Demonstrate knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and IEP processes.
- Possess strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
