Staff Today Inc. in Vacaville, CA is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to join our correctional healthcare team. You will collect blood specimens using venipuncture and capillary techniques, verify patient identity, and ensure accurate labeling and documentation.

This role offers a Monday–Friday shift 0600–1430 with competitive local pay of $22.13 per hour, plus benefits and referral rewards. A state license and BLS certification are required, along with 1+ year phlebotomy experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1+ year phlebotomy experience.
• Active state phlebotomy license.
• American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Providers.
• Copy of PSV/verification if required by licensing board.
• TB test/immunization records or client-specific requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens from patients using venipuncture and capillary techniques.
• Verify patient identity and ensure proper specimen labeling.
• Prepare patients for collection and address concerns.
• Process, store, and transport laboratory specimens according to protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient and specimen documentation.
• Follow infection control, safety, and QA standards.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions during collection.
• Maintain and sanitize phlebotomy equipment and work areas.
• Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure timely specimen processing.
