i3 is seeking a Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Technician in Huntsville, Alabama, to perform part-time/TOC NDT duties on aviation-related components. The role involves MT/PT and related methods with frequent audits as a team representative.

The candidate should have 3–5 years of NDT experience, hold Level II certifications (MT, PT, ET, UT) or military equivalents, and be eligible for DoD clearance. U.S. citizenship is required; travel is 20% CONUS/OCONUS.

Qualifications

  • Level II MT/PT/ET/UT certification or military equivalent.
  • Two or more NDT certifications will be considered.
  • NDT Level II capable of setting up/calibrating equipment and interpreting results.
  • Familiar with codes, standards and specifications; provide on-the-job training guidance.
  • Must obtain DoD security clearance and be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

  • Detect flaws such as cracks, delamination, voids, processing defects, and heat damage using MT, PT, ET, UT, radiographic and optical testing.
  • Inspect aviation parts primarily using MT and PT techniques.
  • Serve as NDT representative during audits as part of a U.S. Government team.
  • Travel 20% CONUS and OCONUS.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Overview

i3 is looking for a Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Technician to join our team! The ideal candidate will have previous experience in rotary and/or fixed wing aircraft nondestructive inspection.This position is located in Huntsville, Alabama.



Responsibilities

A successful candidate will conduct part-time / Temporary-On-Call (TOC) NDT duties.



  • Other Duties include:

    • Detect flaws such as cracks, delamination, voids, processing defects, and heat damage using Fluorescent Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, Radiographic (CR), and Optical test equipment.

    • Conduct inspections of various aviation-related parts primarily using Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) and Penetrant Testing (PT) techniques.

    • As part of a larger U.S. Government team, serve as the NDT representative during a variety of NDT audits.

    • This position will require 20% travel CONUS and OCONUS.

    • Other duties as assigned.





Qualifications

Education/Experience


  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience.

  • Level 2 Certification in Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Eddy Current Testing (ET), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) or military equivalent.

  • Candidates with two or more of the desired NDT method certifications will be considered.

  • NDT Level II individual qualified to set up and calibrate equipment and to interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards and specifications.

  • Thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the methods for which they are qualified and should exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of trainees and NDT Level I/II personnel.

  • Ability to organize and report the results of NDT tests.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

  • U. S. Citizenship is required.

  • Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, however, additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
