Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is hiring for an NDT technician involved in nondestructive evaluation methods. The role requires independent work, following instructions, and hands-on activity with fixtures, tooling and data collection systems.

You will collaborate with engineers and scientists, plan milestones, operate hand tools and possibly obtain a forklift/license. U.S. citizenship is required for access under the program.

Qualifications

• AA/AS degree or 2-year post high school training with 1+ years of relevant technician experience.
• U.S. citizenship required for access under program/contract.

Job description

What You Will Do

The candidate will work closely with engineers and scientists from inspection development through implementation in NDT methods. The candidate must possess an affinity for working independently and following instructions provided, and show ability to work both hands on and with automated data collection systems. Key functions also include generation of custom fixtures and tooling to meet critical inspection needs, and effective daily planning to achieve milestones as agreed upon with group scientists or engineers. The candidate will need to utilize hand tools such as drills, strapping machine, pallet jack, as well as ability to obtain a Pratt and Whitney PIV / Fork Truck license. The candidate will utilize a hoist to lift parts up to 1 ton. They also will inspect parts with multi axis machines. The preferred candidate will possess exemplary communication and interpersonal skills, and will work as part of a cohesive and dedicated team of scientist, engineers, and technicians responsible for the development of Nondestructive Evaluation methods.

Qualifications You Must Have

AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with 1+ years of relevant experience as a technician. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer

A.S Degree and experience with machining with Manual Lathe and Manual Bridgeport as well as other machine shop equipment fabricating custom fixtures. Experience with running process related equipment. Demonstrated success in working across multi-functional organizations, and all levels of management. Exhibited clear and effective communication, both verbal and written. Confirmed effectiveness as a detail-oriented individual that possesses the ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task in a flexible, fast-paced, and challenging environment to effectively meet deadlines.

The salary range for this role is 41,400 USD - 72,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
