Job summary

Island Deliveries is seeking an Owner/Operator 1099 Independent Contractor to join our logistics team in the Kansas City region. You will own and operate a 26" Box Truck with a lift gate, hire and manage your own crew, and ensure timely, safe deliveries of furniture, cabinets, and freight.

You must have a valid DL and a Physical DOT Card, strong communication, and the ability to load/unload while adhering to safety regulations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks for the transportation of freight.

• Navigate routes effectively while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure safe operation.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, logs of mileage, fuel usage, and delivery times.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding issues or delays encountered during transit.
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries and address client inquiries professionally.

We are seeking dedicated and skilled Owner/Operator 1099 Independent Contractors to join our logistics team. Duties

• Operate trucks for the transportation of freight.

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel usage, and delivery times.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding any issues or delays encountered during transit.
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any client inquiries or concerns in a professional manner.

Experience

• Proven experience in truck driving with a valid DL & Physical DOT Card
• Good communications skills and proper attire.
• Experience with loading and unloading
• Background in freight transportation or delivery driving is highly desirable.
• Ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols related to commercial driving.
