Non-Medical Transportation Driver

Job Description / Roles and Responsibilities

The Non-Medical Transportation Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and person-centered transportation services in accordance with company policies, Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) regulations, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Schedule
  • Tuesday – Saturday
  • 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Applicants must be able to consistently work the required schedule. Attendance is mandatory. Please do not apply if you are unable to accommodate these hours.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Maintain professional, respectful, and effective communication with clients, co-workers, supervisors, family members, and dispatch.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance that reflects company standards.
  • Perform all assigned duties in a professional, ethical, and courteous manner.
  • Provide safe, timely, and dependable door-to-door transportation services for all assigned clients.
  • Follow pre-planned daily transportation routes and schedules. Daily routes are provided electronically and must be accessed using a company-approved cell phone.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively operate and navigate a cell phone, including accessing routes, communicating with supervisors, and utilizing required applications throughout the workday.
  • Assist clients with entering and exiting the vehicle as needed while maintaining their safety, dignity, and independence.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and submit documentation within established timeframes.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of schedules, documentation, client information, and transportation services.
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic by maintaining professionalism, dependability, accountability, and a positive attitude.
  • Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Respect the rights, privacy, confidentiality, and dignity of every client at all times.
  • Comply with all applicable Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) regulations and service requirements.
  • Operate company vehicles in a safe and responsible manner while adhering to all traffic laws and defensive driving practices.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license in good standing at all times and immediately notify the Company of any change in driving privileges, license status, citations, or accidents that may affect the ability to perform job duties.
  • Maintain a driving record that meets company and insurance carrier requirements.
  • Report accidents, incidents, injuries, vehicle concerns, or safety hazards immediately in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of company vehicles and promptly report any maintenance or repair needs.
  • Participate in all required meetings, trainings, and continuing education as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications

Employment Conditions

To remain eligible for employment, all Non-Medical Transportation Drivers must:

  • Successfully pass and maintain a criminal background check in accordance with company policy and applicable regulations.
  • Successfully pass and maintain required drug screenings in accordance with company policy.
  • Successfully pass and maintain any required physical examination to ensure the ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
