Job summary

Taft Elementary in Canton, Ohio is seeking a Non-Instructional Aide to support classrooms and daily activities. This part-time role is 2 hours per day, with a starting date of immediately and a salary of $14.34 per hour.

Job Goal

• Assist Principal and others in providing a friendly, courteous, and safe environment for students, so students can take full advantage of their educational experience

Evaluation

• Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel

Performance

• Help students develop and observe proper rules and procedures
• Monitor and maintain behavior and reinforce acceptable behavior,promotewholesome intra-school and community - school relations
• When needed, organize students into orderly groups to assistthem in theirassigned areas
• Inform the teacher or Principal of any serious infraction ofdisciplinary rulesby students
• Assist with setting up and using instructional equipment suchas computers,audiovisual equipment, and related technology
• Maintain the confidentiality of student/staff information andrecords, andstudent behavior
• Monitor activities in the hall, lavatory, recess, lunch, playground,classroom,or wherever assigned including, but not limited to,emergency drills andassemblies
• Deal with occasional exposure to blood and bodily fluids, and students withvarious illnesses
• Interact with a diverse student population
• Handle interactions among unruly children
• Comply with all Plain Local Board of Education policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as directed
