Job summary

Trillium Staffing in Crawfordsville, IN seeks a Materials Buyer to manage the non-ferrous warehouse, interact with customers, grade and purchase scrap, and prepare materials for outbound shipment.

The successful candidate will report to the yard manager and assist with daily housekeeping and equipment maintenance. The role requires good communication and physical stamina.

Schedule is Monday–Friday with possible Saturdays, 6:30am–3:00pm, and pay rate is $20/hr.

Qualifications

• Non-Ferrous scrap experience required.
• Strong verbal communication with customers, employees, and supervisors.
• Forklift experience required.
• Experience with shear, baler, or can machines preferred.
• Good attendance record; ability to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Grade and purchase incoming material from peddlers and industrial accounts.
• Process material for shipment.
• Grade and weigh outbound non-ferrous material and maintain inventory of material ready for shipping.
• Unload transported materials at docks.
• Maintain cleanliness of warehouse and adjacent areas.
• Complete proper paperwork regarding material condition and type.
• Perform monthly physical inventory of all non-ferrous materials.
