Job summary

Idlogistics is seeking a NON DOT Yard Jockey for 1st shift (Tuesday-Friday, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM). You will drive gasoline or diesel tractors to move and spot trailers at loading docks and staging areas, earning $23.50/hour.

Responsibilities include attaching drive units, moving trailers, inspecting trucks, monitoring refrigeration, and maintaining yard paperwork. A High School diploma or GED and 1 year of verifiable experience are required; a Class A CDL may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1 year verifiable experience in a related role.
• Ability to operate yard truck safely; forklift experience required.
• Class A CDL license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Moves trailers by attaching drive unit to trailers to load/unload at docks.
• Checks trailer lights, tires, and vehicle defects before/after trips.
• Monitors refrigeration units and may check temperatures.
• Maintains an orderly lot and trailer location paperwork with daily yard checks.
• Ensures trailers are clean and ready for use; follows safety rules.
• Reads and interprets safety rules and operating instructions.
• Writes routine reports and adheres to GMPs and site rules.

Description of the Position:

Drives gasoline or diesel-powered tractors to transport and spot trailers at appropriate loading docks and/or staging areas.

Responsibilities:

• Performs trailer movements by attaching drive unit to trailers to move to and from dock doors for loading and unloading.
• Checks trailer lights and tires and inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submit reports indicating truck condition.
• Monitors truck refrigeration units and may check temperature.
• Maintains an orderly lot and paperwork for trailer locations by performing daily yard checks.
• Checks empty trailers to ensure cleanliness.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Write routine reports and correspondence.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and rules.
• Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed.
• Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
