Qualifications

Job description

Bald Mountain is an open-pit mine with a large estimated mineral resource in the largest private mining land package in the U.S. The mine is located in White Pine County, one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world, along the southern extension of the prolific Carlin trend. Bald Mountain and the nearby Round Mountain mine make up Kinross' Nevada operations.

Job Description

Under the general supervision the incumbent performs Non-Destructive Testing of the equipment on the mine site while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross' values. He/she also will recommend equipment maintenance procedures that are engineered to maximize sitewide asset performance within the Kinross Way for Maintenance Guidelines.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform lubrication analysis on all Mine Equipment
• Perform Ultrasonic testing on equipment as required
• Perform infrared thermography
• Perform Ultrasonic (UT) inspections
• Perform Vibration Analysis
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis and reliability analysis initiatives.
• Provide timely condition based recommendations based on findings
• Accept responsibility for a variety of projects outside the day-to-day activities.
• Maintain written documentation needed for regulatory requirements and company policy.
• Moving, hauling, and lifting equipment as required by the repair or maintenance being performed.
• Specify certain parts when ordering, and complete appropriate paperwork and reports.
• Train on other NDT technologies.
• Responsible for managing the BMGC Environmental Health and Safety Management system in his/her areas of responsibility.
• Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.
• Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.
• Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance.
• Works without risk or harm to self and others.
• Punctuality and regular attendance required.
• Perform other related functions as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience

• Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, communication and decision-making skills.
• Training in one, or more, of the NDT technologies preferred.
• Entry level certification in any one of the NDT technologies preferred.
• 4 years of experience in Mining Maintenance preferred.
• Strong analytic skills
• Capable of lifting and hauling equipment necessary to complete each job.
• Be able to accurately complete appropriate paperwork associated with test equipment and process equipment.
• Training on reliability practices, procedures, or methodologies is preferred.
• Must show ability on the following software programs:
• Knowledge of JDE is preferred
• Excel, Word and Outlook
• Work will be performed both indoors and outdoors in a general industrial environment. The incumbent may be asked to work straight days or shift work with overtime as needed. Appropriate PPE must be worn at all times.
• Ability to Physical perform required work assignments.
• Ability to learn from others and adopt best practices.
• Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
• General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of milling and maintenance operations.
• Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
• Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
• Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team.
• Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills.
• Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.
• Requires valid driver's license.
