AdventHealth in Lake Wales, FL is seeking a patient care technician to support licensed nurses during night shifts. You will assist with basic patient care, take vital signs, and document in the electronic medical record.

This role requires a High School Grad or equivalent and prefers 1+ PCT experience; BLS is required and CNA/CPCT/A certifications are desirable. You will work in a faith-based health system focused on compassionate care within a safe, collaborative environment.

Competenze

• High School Grad or Equiv required.
• 1+ applicable PCT experience preferred.
• CPCT/A, CNA, NCPCT, PCT-C, EMT certifications are preferred.

• Assists in the delivery of patient care under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Accurately performs vital signs and documents in the EMR.

Job Description

• Assists in the delivery of patient care by performing tasks under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Accurately performs vital signs and documents in the electronic medical record.
• Documents and reports all procedures accurately and in accordance with department policy.
• Performs duties and patient care according to policy and procedure.
• Functions appropriately within scope in clinical emergencies.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand hygiene according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrade skills continuously.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• May perform point of care testing based on competency and hospital policy.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience

• 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Preferred]
• NHA Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Preferred]
• OR NCCT Patient Care Technician (NCPCT) [Preferred]
• OR AMCA Patient Care Technician Certification (PCT-C) [Preferred]
• Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) [Preferred]

Pay Range

$16.02 - $25.63
