Job summary

Birchaven is seeking a nursing aide to support licensed staff in assisted living areas, delivering direct resident care under the supervision of a Nurse and ensuring comfort, safety, and compliance with applicable standards.

You will assist with personal needs, room preparation, supply restocking, and report changes in resident condition while upholding the organization's mission and resident rights. A $500 sign-on bonus is offered for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• Meet the minimum required age of 16 years old.
• Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to needs of the residents served on his/her neighborhood.
• Possess the ability to assess data reflective of the resident status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each resident's needs.

PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION

The primary purpose of this position is to support the licensed staff by giving direct care and performing aide functions such as care for the personal needs and comfort of residents under the supervision of a Nurse for the assisted living areas, and in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, Birchaven policy and procedure, Birchaven ethical statement and resident rights, subject to the associate handbook.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires a full range of body motion with intermittent activities in walking, sitting, lifting, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting and standing. The associate will be required to lift 50 pounds or more. This position requires individuals to lift work above the shoulder. The associate must have corrected vision and hearing in the normal range. Individual must have excellent communication skills to perform daily tasks.***This position is classified at risk for possible occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens (HBV, HIV etc.)
