Job summary

AdventHealth in Winter Garden, FL seeks a Patient Care Technician to assist in delivering patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You will accurately record vital signs and document in the EMR, follow policy, and uphold safety standards while supporting a patient-centered care approach.

The role requires a high school diploma, BLS-CPR certification, and preferred CNA or related cert with 1+ PCT experience. Shift is night, full-time, with competitive pay and benefits.

Job Description

• Assists in the delivery of patient care by performing tasks under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Accurately performs vital signs and documents in the electronic medical record
• Documents and reports all procedures accurately and in accordance with department policy.
• Perform duties and patient care according to policy and procedure.
• Functions appropriately within scope in clinical emergencies
• Participate in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand hygiene according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrade skills continuously.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
• May perform point of care testing based on competency and hospital policy.

Education

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Work Experience

• 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]

• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Preferred]
• NHA Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Preferred] OR NCCT Patient Care Technician (NCPCT) [Preferred] OR AMCA Patient Care Technician Certification (PCT-C) [Preferred]
• Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) [Preferred]
