Job description

Starting Pay: $20.14

Position Purpose:

All drivers run daily routes with frequent stops and are required to load packages onto hand trucks and unload product at each stop on the assigned route, as designated by the Transportation Department Manager. Candidates will operate successfully in a cross dock model, picking up loaded trucks from nightly deliveries at the assigned loading dock and returning the empty truck to the lot at the end of the route. May be required to assist with loading trucks, palletizing product, and performing other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Run routes efficiently, meeting or exceeding designated route times.
2. Unload product from trailer, using hand or hand cart, and place in designated customer storage areas, transporting product over ramps, stairs, or docks in all weather conditions.
3. Frequently lift, push, or move product weighing 1-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds; reach up to 72” to stack/unstack pallets; bend and twist during loading/unloading and retrieving items from trailer.
4. Verify delivery with customers, obtain signatures, and communicate discrepancies or errors to management.
5. Handle customer complaints professionally.
6. Properly handle company equipment, follow safety rules, and perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.

Education:

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Experience:

• One year of route delivery experience or relevant driving background with a straight truck.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to read and understand English.
