Job summary

Hamilton Connections in Waterbury, CT is seeking a Non-CDL driver for a distributor. This temp-to-perm position pays $21 per hour and runs from 5 a.m. until finished, Monday through Friday.

A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required. Responsibilities include loading and unloading trucks, driving a box truck to deliver to branches and customers, documenting deliveries, following route manifest, and performing pre-trip/post-trip inspections.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• At least 2 years of related work experience.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must have a valid DOT medical card or be able to obtain one.
• Clean driving record free of accidents and moving violations.
• Able to handle physical aspects of the job (standing/sitting, getting in/out of truck, lifting 75–100 lbs).
• Warehouse operations and logistics experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare truck for operation by assisting in and overseeing the loading of trucks, securing of items, and verifying the accuracy of shipping papers
• Drive company box truck to deliver orders to our branches and/or our customers' sites, which includes unloading products
• Document delivery, accuracy and receipt of orders by the customer according to company directives; report any discrepancies to company
• Follow route manifest set by delivery manager
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, fuel the truck as needed, and report any problems or issues to supervisor
• Comply with all Department of Transportation standards and regulations
• Assist warehouse personnel with preparing orders for shipment as needed, as well as receiving, and verifying incoming material
• Properly track and document activity log; keep records on the use or damage of stock or stock-handling equipment
• Deliver outstanding customer service and build professional relationships by treating customers and colleagues in a friendly and respectful manner
• Maintain a safe driving record free of violations
