Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking a Security Officer to provide safety and protection across hospital sites. You will operate weapons scanning equipment, monitor security systems, enforce policies, and serve as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, BLS certification, and the ability to work a 36 hour work week with potential to float to other locations.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association).
• Driver's license (state).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be physically and mentally capable to complete training and maintain certifications for weapons scanning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains weapons scanning equipment.
• Enforces facility policies including parking, visitation, drug enforcement, and smoking.
• Monitors surveillance (CCTV) and responds to escalating situations.
• Intervenes in patient, visitor and staff confrontations as appropriate.
• Documents incidents thoroughly and accurately.
• Understands emergency procedures, alarm response and evacuation plans.
• Works independently to determine correct response and actions.
