Acute Care Physician Assistant – Hospitalist & Nocturnist

Transform patient care and community as an Acute Care Physician Assistant in Frederick, Maryland. We are hiring for a hospitalist and a nocturnist APP. The nocturnist role requires working exclusively overnight shifts.

Our local team consists of 22 physicians and 10 APPs who work closely with hospital staff and departments to deliver high‑quality care.

Key Responsibilities

• Day hospitalist APP: round, admit, and discharge patients from the observation unit or round and discharge from the Med/Surg floors.
• Nocturnist APP: perform admissions and cross coverage with 2 nocturnist physicians; round, admit, and occasionally discharge patients from the observation unit.
• Participate in rapid response team huddles, weekly meetings, and lunch‑and‑learn sessions.
• Use Meditech Expand and the internal informatics platform to manage patient records.

Qualifications

• Board‑certified Physician Assistant
• Hospitalist experience required
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Certified in basic life support and advanced cardiovascular life support

Scheduling

• Night position: 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
• Day position: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Full‑time, part‑time, and PRN shifts available

Rewards and Compensation

Hospitalist shift: $140,000–$150,000 per year, plus incentives.

Nocturnist shift: $150,000–$165,000 per year, plus incentives. $25,000 commencement bonus offered.
