Job summary

South County Health seeks a Nocturnist physician for a full-FTE role (12 nights per month) or 6 nights as part-FTE. Board-eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with inpatient hospitalist experience preferred. Night shifts run 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with sign-out to daytime teams.

Live in coastal Rhode Island area with a hospital-employed, collegial group and a strong commitment to patient care. Benefited by a comprehensive package including health, dental and retirement options.

Qualifications

• BC/BE in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine required.
• Prior inpatient hospitalist experience required.
• Nocturnist role involves overnight admissions and cross-coverage.

Responsibilities

• Overnight admissions/consults to hospital medicine services. Typically 5–10 per evening.
• Overnight cross-coverage for hospital medicine with census 40–50.
• Sign out to Hospitalist Rounders at end of shift and hand off to daytime team.
