The role involves night-shift coverage within an established program, with support from a multidisciplinary team. EMR is Meditech, and the facility boasts a Level II trauma designation with robust inpatient services.

Responsibilities

• Provide nocturnist hospitalist coverage from 7pm to 7am.
• Respond to codes and assist rapid response teams as needed.
• Collaborate with daytime APCs and physicians and coordinate patient care.

TeamHealth has a brand new nocturnist hospitalist opening at St. David's South Austin Medical Center in Austin, Texas. We are looking for a dedicated clinician to work within our established program between TeamHealth and HCA that is board eligible or certified in internal medicine or family medicine.

St. David's South Austin Medical Center is a Level II trauma designated facility with 368 total beds, an open ICU with a fully staffed intensivist program. During the day shift (7am-7pm) there are a total of 2 APCs and 9 day-time physicians; 8 are rounding physicians with 1 admitter daily from (8am-8pm). Our day-rounding team will oversee 22 encounters daily, while our admitting team will average 15-16 total admissions.

During the night shift we have 2 nocturnist physicians and 1 APC (7pm-7am) averaging 20-23 total admissions + cross coverage. Clinicians do respond to their own patients when a code is called and assist the rapid response team as needed. The current EMR at all St. David's locations is Meditech.
