Job summary

Sound Physicians in Stockton, California is seeking a nocturnist hospital medicine physician to cover overnight shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. You will join a cohesive team at St. Joseph’s Medical Center, with opportunities to collaborate, teach residents, and contribute to patient care during nighttime hours.

We sponsor H-1B visas; candidates must have an MD or DO, be board eligible or certified in IM or FM, hold or be eligible for California licensure, and be authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an accredited institution.
• IM or FM board certification or eligibility, with the expectation of obtaining certification.
• Active medical license or eligible to become licensed in California.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Not considering 2027 graduates for this opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Nocturnist schedule: 7 PM - 7 AM.
• Work in a closed ICU with 24/7 intensivist coverage; no procedures required.
• Participate in hospital committees and teaching with Family Medicine and Internal Medicine residents.
