Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of Gastroenterology fellowship.
• Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Gastroenterology.
• Inpatient GI and endoscopy experience preferred; new graduates with strong training encouraged to apply.
• Eligible for or licensed by the Virginia Department of Health Professions.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical overnight inpatient gastroenterology services.
• Manage acute GI conditions and other urgent/emergent presentations.
• Collaborate closely with Emergency Medicine, ICU, and Hospitalist teams.
• Ensure timely documentation and structured handoff to daytime GI physicians.
• Participate in quality improvement, compliance, and risk management initiatives.
• Support VHC Health’s mission to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
