ChristianaCare seeks a Certified Nurse Midwife to join the Women’s Health team as a Nocturnist Triage Laborist at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware. The role provides inpatient obstetric care across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods in a 24/7 service line.

The CNM will collaborate with physicians, residents, and APC learners in an academic setting, delivering care at full scope and supporting education and high-quality patient outcomes.

Qualifikationen

• Graduate degree from an accredited nurse-midwifery or midwifery program
• Completion of an accredited Certified Nurse‑Midwife/Midwifery Program
• Advanced knowledge of obstetrics, gynecology, and labor and delivery management
• Board-certified or board-eligible Certified Nurse Midwife
• Eligible for active staff status within the ChristianaCare OB/GYN Department

Aufgaben

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage obstetric and gynecologic patients presenting to Labor & Delivery and OB/GYN triage
• Independently manage normal labor and birth
• Monitor maternal and fetal well-being and adjust care plans as needed
• Perform vaginal deliveries and provide immediate maternal and newborn care
• Obtain histories, perform physical examinations, and develop treatment plans
• Order, interpret, and act on laboratory studies, diagnostic testing, fetal monitoring, and other clinical assessments
• Recognize high-risk or emergent situations and collaborate with or elevate care to obstetric physicians when appropriate
• Coordinate admissions, consultations, transfers, discharges, and transitions of care
• Educate and counsel patients and families regarding labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, newborn care, and family planning
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, anesthesia, neonatology, and other healthcare professionals
• Support the education and development of residents, students, and members of the healthcare team
