The role involves 12-hour night shifts, inpatient/hospitalist work, and a physician-led team requiring strong clinical judgment and communication.

Qualifications

• Requires valid NP or PA license.
• Board certification is mandatory.
• Preferred inpatient/hospitalist/ICU/acute care experience.
• Excellent clinical decision-making and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously within a physician-led team.

Responsibilities

• Perform 12-hour night shifts from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
• Deliver hospital-based care to adult patients.
• Conduct patient assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Manage admissions, daily rounds, and cross-coverage duties.
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests and imaging results.
• Adjust medications and treatments as needed for patient care.
• Respond promptly to overnight changes in patient conditions.
• Collaborate with doctors and hospital leadership to improve patient care quality.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient activities.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our nocturnist team in Dothan, Alabama. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in providing overnight care to hospitalized adults, collaborating closely with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform 12-hour night shifts from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
• Deliver comprehensive hospital-based care to adult patients.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop effective treatment plans.
• Manage admissions, conduct daily rounds, and handle cross-coverage duties.
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging results.
