Qualifications

Carilion Clinic is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician to join our Hospital Medicine team as a Nocturnist at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center (CNRV) in Christiansburg, Virginia.

This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who enjoys the pace and autonomy of nighttime hospital medicine while still having the support and resources of a collaborative, physician-led health system.

The Opportunity

As a Nocturnist at CNRV, you will provide high-quality inpatient care during overnight hours, including evaluating and admitting patients, managing acute medical conditions, and responding to changes in patient status. You will work closely with nursing, emergency medicine, specialists, and other members of the care team to ensure seamless care throughout the night.

Our Hospital Medicine team values collaboration, communication, and a supportive work environment, with a focus on delivering excellent care while maintaining a sustainable schedule for our physicians. Very manageable workflow with experienced and supportive APP coverage in a well-established Nocturnist program with only 146 shifts in a year as compared to a national average of 180 shifts.
