Job summary

Milestone is seeking a Medication Aide/Tech to provide medication management and support ADLs for residents in Assisted Living and Memory Care.

The role starts at $25 per hour and involves delivering care per resident service plans, communicating with medical professionals and families, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum one year of caregiving experience.
• At least six months of supervisory experience in a health-related field.
• Ability to read physician orders and match them to MARs.
• First Aid certification required.
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Pass medications per physician orders and MARs as described in resident service plans.
• Document completion of daily tasks and changes in residents’ conditions.
• Communicate resident needs with other Medication Aides to ensure consistent care.
• Participate in meal service, including serving, clearing, and cleaning the dining room.
• Manage staff under supervision during working hours.
• Maintain required certifications and attend ongoing training and in-service programs.
• Comply with Quality Improvement programs and report issues to supervisor.
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and Bloodborne Pathogen guidelines.
• Report elder maltreatment or abuse to the Director of Health and Wellness, Executive Director, or State authorities.
• Work safely and support a positive work environment for all staff and residents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

About The Role

We\'re seeking a Medication Aide/Tech to provide medication management and support Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) for residents in Assisted Living and Memory Care. This position has a starting wage of $25 per hour. In this role, you\'ll deliver care in accordance with resident service plans, communicate with medical professionals and families, and ensure residents\' safety and well-being while supporting regulatory compliance.

What You\’ll Do

• Follow each resident\’s service plan in a friendly and supportive manner, including passing medications per physician orders and Medication Administration Records
• Document completion of daily tasks and observed changes in residents\’ conditions
• Communicate resident needs with other Medication Aides to ensure consistent care
• Participate in meal service, including serving, clearing, and cleaning the dining room
• Manage staff under your supervision during working hours
• Maintain required certifications and attend ongoing training and in-service programs
• Comply with the Continuous Quality Improvement program and report issues to your supervisor
• Follow all local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and Blood Borne Pathogen Guidelines
• Report suspected elder maltreatment or abuse to the Director of Health and Wellness, Executive Director, and/or State
• Work safely and foster a safe work environment for all employees
• Support teamwork, take initiative, and maintain a positive impact on residents, visitors, and coworkers
• Perform other duties as assigned

What We\’re Looking For

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum one year of experience in a caregiving role or similar function
• At least six months of supervisory experience in a health-related field
• Ability to read physician orders and match them to Medication Administration Records
• Understanding of medical terminology adequate to administer medications and communicate with medical professionals
• Certifications as required by state
• Must be 18 years or older and meet all health requirements, including TB clearance
• First Aid certification required
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work well under pressure, resolve conflicts, prioritize tasks, and follow through with ideas
• Pleasant, professional, and personable demeanor
