Job summary

BHC Alhambra Hospital in Rosemead, California is seeking a Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) for nocturnal shift coverage. The LPT will provide nursing care under an RN, focusing on psychiatric and personality disorders, with duties including data collection, vital signs, and monitoring client progress in a behavioral health setting.

Minimum LVN with psychiatric nursing experience is preferred; licensure must be current with the State Board of Nursing.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited vocational school of nursing or vocational training as a psychiatric technician.
• Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
• Child and Adolescent Development education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately collect data needed for integrated assessment.
• Take and record vital signs properly.
• Observe for and document changes in patient appearance, behavior and progress toward treatment goals.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the Charge Nurse.
• Report signs and symptoms of infection to the Charge Nurse.
