Job summary

Fields Senior Living is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant / Health Care Aide to provide compassionate care to residents in Arlington, WA. Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, meals, housekeeping, and activity participation, while safeguarding resident rights and reporting changes in condition.

Candidates must hold a current CNA/HCA license, CPR/first aid, and be able to pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass Criminal Background Check, Health Screening including TB test.
• Must be eighteen (18) years old.
• Maintains current CPR and first aid certification.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret care plans.
• Assisted Living and Memory Care regulations knowledge.
• Ability to prioritize and organize assignments.
• The employee shall be responsible for maintaining the integrity of Fields Senior Living

Responsibilities

• Assisting residents with ADL tasks per service plans, including bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, oral care, ambulation, transfers, meals, housekeeping, and laundry.
• Observe and uphold resident rights and report changes in resident condition promptly to LN on duty.
• Support residents with emotional and behavioral issues and assist on floors as needed.
• Assist residents to and from meals and encourage participation in activities.
• Work with staff from all departments to ensure quality of care and maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Maintain the community call/communication system and respond to pendant/pull cords immediately.
• Develop and revise Service Plans by informing supervisor of current resident needs and preferences.
• Attend required in-services/workshops to further education of skills and community requirements.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of Certified Nursing Assistant CNA / Health Care Aide HCA:

• Assisting residents with ADL tasks as indicated in their service plans. This includes but not limited to: assisting with bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, oral care, ambulation, transfers, serving and assisting with meals, feeding, housekeeping, bed making, and laundry

• Always observe and uphold resident rights

• Positively supports residents with emotional and behavioral issues

• Assist other staff as needed on the floors

• Assist residents to and from meals

• Supports resident activity participation by assisting residents to/from activities, encouraging participation, and leading activities when asked.

• Must be willing to work with staff from all departments to ensure quality of care for residents

• Keep environment safe and clean for residents; performing housekeeping duties as indicate don cleaning schedule or assignment sheets.

• Observe residents for safety and report any and all changes in resident condition effectively, accurately, and in a timely manner to LN on duty

• Assist in development and revision of Service Plans by informing supervisor of current resident needs and preferences as well as successful service approaches.

• Answers all resident pendant/pull cords immediately.

• Carry and possess a working knowledge of community call/communication system

• All other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Requirements for Certified Nursing Assistant CNA / Health Care Aide HCA:

• Maintain ability to lift 50 pounds; to stand or walk throughout the vast majority of the work day; and to frequently push, pull, bend, twist and reach.

• Must be willing to be active and on feet during entire work shift.

• Involves light to heavy physical activity performing non-strenuous and strenuous activities.

• Must have sufficient manual dexterity to work with the fingers and to reach/hand items.
