The role involves hands-on work with state-of-the-art noble gas mass spectrometers and on-campus research in groundwater, natural gas, and rocks. This is a fully funded, one-year position with potential renewal.

The successful candidate will conduct experiments, collaborate with faculty, and may teach undergraduate/graduate courses. Must have a Ph.D.

Formación

• Ph.D. in geochemistry or related field before start.
• Demonstrated potential for research excellence, evidenced by publications.
• Experience with noble gas mass spectrometry, ultrahigh vacuum systems, LabVIEW or Python, and Qtegra.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of noble gas analysis procedures preferred but not required.
• Comfortable working in diverse programming environments and developing new methodologies.

Responsabilidades

• Operate and troubleshoot noble gas mass spectrometers.
• Build computational models of noble gas geochemistry results.
• Communicate research findings through talks, posters, and journal articles.
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
• Purchase lab supplies, participate in literature discussions, and contribute to proposal writing.
• Other duties as assigned.
