Public Citizen’s Climate Program and Public Citizen’s Texas office are seeking an organizer to support efforts to block anticipated legislation that would restrict tools Texans use to hold corporations accountable for misconduct.
The role focuses on building and leading coalitions, developing and executing organizing and communications strategies, and cultivating local spokespeople to deliver our message that corporations should be under the law.
Public Citizen is a national, non-partisan, public interest group with more than 1,000,000 members and supporters. We hold the government and corporations accountable with campaigns and advocacy before Congress, administrative agencies, and the courts, on issues including money in politics, open government, financial regulation, energy and the climate crisis, fair trade, consumer protection, access to justice, tax policy, workplace safety, drug and medical device safety, healthcare, and more. We are the reason why there are airbags in cars and much more.
Public Citizen’s Climate Program and Public Citizen’s Texas office are looking for a smart, creative, resourceful, diligent, and dogged organizer to support our efforts to block anticipated legislation that would take away the legal tools Texas communities use to hold corporations accountable for harmful misconduct.
Corporations are coming for every tool that Texans have ever used to protect the places and people we love from corporate greed and abuse. We can’t give up these rights without a fight. That’s why Public Citizen is organizing a new campaign to stop state legislation that would put corporations above the law. And we need your help. We are seeking an organizer to help us build a coalition of unusual suspects who can overcome the interests behind this corporate immunity push, with a focus on developing and executing organizing and communications efforts that advance this campaign and identifying and cultivating local spokespeople to deliver our message that no corporation should be above the law.
