Job summary

Potbelly Corporate is seeking a Nighttime Team Member to join our team after 4pm. You will support multiple stations, ensure food safety, restock and prepare a variety of items in a clean, energetic setting.

The role requires 16+ years old, strong communication, and the ability to stand for long periods while lifting up to 50 pounds. Illinois food safety certification within 30 days is required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Friendly, customer-first mindset suited to fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a bustling kitchen; knife skills a plus.
• Able to manage allergens: peanuts, eggs, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish.
• Team player.
• Able to stand/walk at least 3 hours; lift up to 50 pounds.
• Illinois applicants must complete food safety certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Work multiple stations (load, dress, shakes, cash, prep, front) as directed by a Shift Leader or Manager.
• Comply with health and safety standards for food, cleanliness and safety.
• Restock food line, chips and cooler.
• Prepare quality finished products (sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream, etc.) efficiently.
• If 18 or older, use of the automatic slicer to prep food items.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and utensils; take out trash.
• Operate cash register: handle, balance and follow all cash handling procedures.
• Effectively handle customer complaints/issues.
• Takes delivery/catering/pickup orders over the phone.
• Other duties as assigned.

Schedule:

We're hiring Team Members available for evening and night shifts starting after 4pm. Join our team to help close the shop, serve customers, plus keep the energy & good vibes going until the end of the day!

What you bring to the table:

• you are at least 16 years of age
• A friendly, customer-first mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, energetic environment
• You have strong written and verbal communication skills
