Job summary

WP Rawl in Pelion, SC is seeking a dependable Baler Operator to join our Warehouse team. You will operate a baling machine to compact recyclable cardboard, move finished bales with a forklift, and help maintain exterior areas.

This role requires physical stamina, safety awareness, and the ability to work Monday through Friday with occasional weekend hours. Familiarity with balers, forklifts, and tractors is a plus; training is provided and a clean safety record is essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to repeatedly lift and move materials weighing at least 20 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to work in hot or cold indoor and outdoor temperatures depending on the season.
• Ability to safely operate or learn to operate a baling machine, forklift, and tractor.

Responsibilities

• Operate a baling machine to compact recyclable cardboard into bales.
• Repeatably lift, move, and stack cardboard boxes for processing.
• Secure completed bales using baling wire.
• Safely operate a forklift to transport and load completed bales onto trailers.
• Operate a tractor to transport full compost waste wagons to designated fields.
• Navigate farmland and occasionally cross roads while transporting waste wagons.
• Operate industrial equipment in accordance with safety procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of exterior areas between baling machine and maintenance shop.
• Follow all company policies, safety requirements, and operating procedures.
• Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to support daily operations.

We're looking for a dependable and safety-focused Baler Operator to join our Warehouse team in Pelion, South Carolina. In this role, you'll be responsible for operating a baling machine to prepare recyclable cardboard for disposal or recycling, moving finished bales with a forklift, transporting compost waste using a tractor, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of designated exterior areas.

What You’ll Do

• Operate a baling machine to compact recyclable cardboard into bales.
• Repeatedly lift, move, and stack cardboard boxes for processing.
• Secure completed bales using baling wire.
• Safely operate a forklift to transport and load completed bales onto trailers.
• Operate a tractor to transport full compost waste wagons to designated fields.
• Navigate farmland and occasionally cross paved roads with automobile traffic while transporting waste wagons.
• Operate industrial equipment, including baling machinery, forklifts, and pallet jacks, in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the exterior areas between the baling machine and the maintenance shop.
• Follow all company policies, safety requirements, and operating procedures.
• Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to support daily operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience operating industrial equipment, forklifts, tractors, or baling machinery is beneficial.
