Job summary

Paycom in Lubbock, TX is seeking an experienced Yard Tractor Operator to position trailers at distribution center docks and shuttle them for pickup by OTR drivers. You will safely maneuver trailers, follow radio instructions, perform equipment checks, and maintain a tidy yard while delivering reliable service to customers.

Candidates should have at least two years of trailer operation experience, English literacy, and the potential for a CDL at some terminals.

Qualifications

• Two years+ experience operating tractor trailers and spotting trailers in congested areas.
• Must read and write in English.
• CDL may be required at certain terminals.

Responsibilities

• Position trailers at distribution center docks and shuttle for pickup by OTR drivers.
• Safely operate a yard tractor to move empty and loaded trailers in the yard.
• Follow radio instructions to place trailers at the correct doors.
• Chock trailers safely and operate fifth wheels, dolly, brakes, lights, and refrigeration settings.
• Inspect yard tractor for damage and report any issues.
• Complete work and equipment damage reports as required.
• Keep yard truck and area clean and orderly.
• Perform other trailer yard duties as assigned.
• Maintain a professional demeanor with customer representatives.
