Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking an on-site Package Handler/Switcher in Eau Claire, WI. You will move trailers in the yard, switch trailers between loads and unloads, and assist with package handling with attention to safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• No formal education required.
• No experience required; six months experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform trailer switches by hooking and moving parked trailers between yard and doors.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management or central control.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Demonstrate safe yard switching procedures and safety compliance.
• Load and unload packages from delivery vehicles and trailers using manual handling methods.
• Lift, carry, push and pull packages for several hours per shift.
• Sort packages by conveyor height, labels and numeric data.
