Job summary

Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits is seeking a 2nd Shift Warehouse employee in Shirley, NY. The role focuses on accurate picking and loading of products onto delivery trucks, with strict adherence to safety and inventory procedures.

You will operate forklifts, manage stock rotation, and ensure timely, precise handling of goods in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining equipment and work areas to high standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–3 years experience in material delivery or distribution preferred.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with coworkers and customers.
  • Strong customer service orientation and attention to detail.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform warehouse duties including load picking, building, inventory handling, and WMS transactions using handheld devices.
  • Operate forklifts and/or walk-rider equipment with required certifications.
  • Load and unload delivery trucks accurately and timely.
  • Maintain proper stock rotation in warehouse and on vehicles.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of work areas and facility.
  • Prepare damaged product for repack per policy and assist with maintenance tasks.

Overview

The 2nd Shift Warehouse employee is responsible for ensuring the correct product is picked and loaded on delivery trucks.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform warehouse duties including load picking and building, inventory handling, and accurate completion of Warehouse Management System (WMS) transactions using approved handheld technology
  • Operate forklifts and/or walk‑rider equipment as required and maintain all necessary certifications to safely operate such equipment
  • Build, load, and unload delivery trucks in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with established procedures
  • Ensure proper stock rotation is maintained in the warehouse and on delivery vehicles
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the facility and assigned work areas
  • Prepare damaged product for repack in accordance with company policy
  • Perform routine care and general maintenance of equipment to support safe operation
  • Participate in required training and continuing education programs
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the company's product portfolio, including brands, packages, styles, and categories
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience with material delivery or distribution
  • Ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with other employees
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of customer service in all aspects of the job
  • Knowledge of company objectives
  • Comfortable in a fast‑paced dynamic environment
  • Understands the importance of detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and is always willing to assist others

Physical Demands
  • Physical demands include a considerable amount of time walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
  • Must be able to frequently lift, lower, push, carry, or pull up to 48 pounds
  • Must be able to regularly sit and operate machinery such as a forklift, pallet jacks, and battery change stations
  • Work may involve repetitive motions, working at varying heights, and exposure to warehouse environmental conditions
  • Extended hours, overtime, weekends, and peak‑season schedules may be required
