Job summary

The Chefs' Warehouse in Maryland is seeking a Warehouse Worker to support picking, packing, assembly, sorting, shipping, and receiving of customer orders while upholding safety and quality standards. You will read production and shipping orders, move items with electric pallet jack or stand‑up forklift, and prep pallets for loading while following all safety rules and wearing the company uniform.

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Read production, shipping orders to determine items to move and distribute.
• Move materials from receiving/production to storage or other areas.
• Sort and break down product by SKU, quantity, and type.
• Operate electric pallet jack and stand-up forklift as required.
• Ascend up to 25 ft on cherry picker with safety harness.
• Coordinate with Receivers, Drivers, and Forklift Operators.
• Report safety concerns and follow proper truck/trailer procedures.
• Assemble customer orders and place on pallets or shelves for loading.
• Label pallets with identifying information as directed.
• Open containers when necessary.

Job description

Position Summary:

As a Warehouse Worker, you will be responsible for providing warehouse support including picking, packing, assembly, sorting, shipping, and receiving of orders to meet the facility’s productivity and quality goals within the establishment.

What you’ll do:

• Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Moves materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
• Sorts and breaks down product by SKU, quantity and product type.
• Ability to use electric pallet jack as well as stand-up forklift is a must.
• Required to frequently ascend 25ft on cherry picker in a safety harness.
• Effectively communicate with Receivers, Drivers, Driver Check-in, & Forklift Operators
• Adhering to proper safety practices for truck and trailer pull process on a daily basis.
• Sorts and stores goods in designated areas of the warehouse.
• Responsible for the proper handling of all company issued equipment, including PPE, voice equipment etc.
• Responsible for reporting all safety concerns in the work environment on timely basis.
• Must wear company issued uniform.
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or moves orders to loading dock to prepare for shipping.
• Label pallets with identifying information when instructed.
• Opens bales, crates, and other containers when necessary.

About you:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
