Job summary

Prime, Inc. is seeking a hardworking overnight tractor and trailer technician responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and performing minor repairs to keep equipment up to company standards and DOT compliance.

The shift runs Sunday to Wednesday 6pm–6am and Wednesday to Saturday 6pm–6am with every other Wednesday off. Benefits include 401k, insurance, tuition reimbursement, on‑site gym and spa, and opportunities for advancement across shops.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or related mechanical experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect units for DOT compliance.
  • Inspect tires, lights and exterior components for safe operation.
  • Perform repairs, replacements and adjustments to restore operation.
  • Refuel equipment and track inventory in the bay.

Job description

Overview

Prime, Inc. is looking for a hard-working, positive individual to contribute to the success of Prime by keeping truck and trailer equipment up to the company's high standards. This position will inspect, maintain, and make minor repairs/adjustments to tractors and trailers. It will be an overnight position.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect units entering and exiting the yard to ensure the mechanical compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
  • Inspect tires, lights, and other exterior components for safe operating conditions.
  • Repairs, replaces, and adjusts malfunctioning equipment to restore operating condition specified in regulations and repair manuals.
  • Ensures the timely and authorized movement of equipment.
  • Refuels equipment as required.
  • Tracks and accounts for all Fuel and Inspection Bay inventory.

Shift needed:

Sunday - Wednesday 6pm-6am and Wednesday- Saturday. 6pm-6am Every other Wednesday off

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Tractor mechanic, diesel mechanic, HVAC, lube technician or automotive technician experience would be great, but not needed. We are committed to training you if you have no experience.

Abilities

Must have a strong work history and mechanical knowledge. Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights and weekends required.

Experience, Education, and Training

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements

This position requires constant standing; frequent walking, head turning, stooping, squatting, reaching and grasping. Candidate must be able to lift and carry up to 105lbs and also push and pull up to 115lbs.

Steel toed footwear, and safety glasses are required in the shop.

Working Environment

Both indoor and outdoor working environment with exposure to varying weather conditions and chemical odors.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)PRIME will provide protective equipment (“PPE”) as necessary to its associates in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.132(a). PRIME provides safe working conditions that are fully compliant with all applicable OSHA workplace regulations as it respects an associate’s exposure to chemical, mechanical, or other potential workplace hazards or impairing conditions that could compromise the integrity of the associate’s well‑being, to include eyes, extremities, face, head, or respiratory system. PRIME associates must fully adhere to all PRIME PPE policies at all times. Any PRIME associate, who refuses to fully abide by these mandatory PPE policies, and related safety measures, may be subject to the appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including termination. All required personal protective equipment will be provided by PRIME to each associate at no cost to the associate.

Licensing/Certification

Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation to and from work.

Miscellaneous Requirements

Candidate must be able to pass a job specific post-offer physicalprior to beginning employment with Prime, Inc.
