Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN for night shift at a hospital in South Carolina. EPIC EMR experience and SC or compact RN license required.

The role involves MS/Tele duties, telemetry monitoring, 1:5-6 patient ratios, and 3x12 hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Travel nurses with 3+ years of specialty experience are welcome; housing assistance, travel and licensure reimbursements are offered.

Qualifications

• Active SC or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the field required.
• 3 years of specialty experience required for first-time travel nurses.
• Minimum 1 year of recent EPIC EMR experience required.

Responsibilities

• MS/Tele unit in a hospital setting.
• Patient population includes orthopedic and bariatric diagnoses with telemetry monitoring.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6.
• Uses Pyxis medication system.
• Floating required to similar units or nearby hospitals as needed.
• Provide nursing care for orthopedic and bariatric patients requiring telemetry monitoring.
• Perform cardiac monitoring and respond to emergencies including dysrhythmia management.
• Administer IV therapy, blood products, and manage central and peripheral lines.
• Orientation held every Monday with annual compliance training required.
• Pre-assignment testing and compliance modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials.
• First-time travelers considered with 3+ years of specialty experience.
• Travelers must be more than 100 miles from any facility within the health system to be eligible, with reduced eligibility exceptions for night shift specialties at 50+ miles from the contracted campus.
