Job summary

Hannaford is hiring for a Third Shift Center Store Assistant to support the Stock Crew Manager in achieving financial and sales goals at Hannaford stores in Portland, ME. You will help build strong associate and customer relations and promote Hannaford’s strategy during the overnight shift.

Responsibilities include hiring and training associates, stocking product, maintaining staffing and scheduling, and ensuring safety, compliance and high standards of service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lead and direct the department associates.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Desire to work in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to learn multiple tasks including forklift and power jack training.
• Must meet minimum age requirements.
• Ability and availability to work overnight or early morning shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in hiring, training and developing associates to meet department needs.
• Assist maintaining staffing, scheduling, and financial results as assigned.
• Cut, mark and stock product, as required.
• Use good judgment in assignment, delegation and follow-up for efficient performance.
• Treat all associates with fairness, dignity and respect; provide recognition and constructive criticism when necessary.
• Role-model appropriate workplace behavior.
• Provide outstanding customer service.
• Become familiar with Center Store Standard Practices Manual.
• Maintain communication within the department and organization.
• Maintain high quality workmanship in assigned duties.
• Maintain product variety, pricing and display to achieve gross profit goals.
• Maintain quality condition of products through proper rotation.
• Ensure productivity levels meet company standards.
• Maintain Center Store Department presentation through ordering and inventory control.
• Ensure department compliance with pricing (if applicable).
• Keep work area clean and organized in receiving and sales floor areas.
• Observe and ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures.
• Work within MPP guidelines to maintain productivity.
• Communicate needed equipment repairs or maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with safety, fire prevention, and security standards.
• Treat store information as confidential.
• All other duties as assigned by management.
