Job summary

Shepherd Electric Supply in Laurel, MD is seeking a Warehouse Associate – Night Shift to ensure outbound orders are accurate and properly documented before leaving the dock. You will operate pallet jacks, maintain a clean, organized shipping area, and uphold safety standards.

Monday–Friday, 3:00pm–12:00am, with competitive hourly pay. The role emphasizes ownership, accuracy, and continuous improvement in a 130+ year legacy company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior shipping, warehouse, or fulfillment experience preferred; motivated entry-level candidates will be considered.
• Forklift or pallet jack certification required or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems and standard computer tools (Excel, Word, email) preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs regularly and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to successfully complete pre-employment screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Verify outbound orders for accuracy at the dock and complete final checks.
• Ensure proper shipping documentation is generated and verified.
• Operate pallet jacks and shipping equipment safely in accordance with Shepherd standards.
• Keep shipping area organized, labeled, and free of hazards; report issues.
• Support onboarding and cross-train with receiving and warehouse floor functions.
• Identify and surface workflow friction or recurring errors for process improvement.
