Job summary

Japs-Olson Company (JO) is seeking an Ink Jet Operator to set up, operate, and maintain commercial web presses and Versamark ink jet systems. The role aims to produce high-quality print, minimize waste, and support a safe, efficient production environment.

Responsibilities include operating Versamark inkjet systems, job setup, data-driven personalization, routine press checks, and adherence to quality control procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating web presses.
• Kodak Versamark Ink Jet experience.
• Heidelberg and Goss Web Presses preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Able to work in fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor high-speed Versamark inkjet systems to produce accurate, high-quality output.
• Set up jobs according to production specifications, including file verification, press calibration, and media adjustments.
• Work with variable data files to ensure accurate personalization, addressing, and data integrity throughout production runs.
• Perform routine press checks and control spoilage/waste to maintain efficiency and reduce costs.
• Follow documented quality control procedures to verify print accuracy, color consistency, barcodes, and addressing.
• Conduct basic press maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and ensure reliable press operation.
• Actively participate in department training programs to develop technical skills and stay current on equipment and processes.
• Collaborate with the team lead and production staff, following all management system procedures, 5S, and Standard Work instructions.
