Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift travel assignment in Louisiana. The role requires an active LA or compact RN license, BLS, and at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience; BSN preferred. Schedule is 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 48 hours per week, with possible weekend shifts and unit floating.

The acute Med/Surg unit handles post-surgical patients with 5:1–6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio; EPIC EMR experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Louisiana or compact license required.
• BLS certification via AHA required.
• BSN preferred.
• 1 year of Med/Surg experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
• Educate patients and family members on care needs and available resources.
