Job summary

PSCI is seeking a dependable Telephone Operator I — Night Shift to support 24/7/365 telephone services at the Kansas City VA Medical Center. Night-shift operators are expected to work independently, follow emergency procedures, and maintain excellent judgment and customer service during overnight operations. Location: Kansas City VA Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri.

Shift: Night Shift 12:00 AM–8:00 AM; Full Time (40 Hours a Week). Pay Rate: $17.89/Hr. plus Health and Welfare.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong telephone communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to remain attentive and professional throughout an overnight shift.
• Ability to follow procedures and exercise sound judgment during emergency or unusual situations.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work the assigned night/weekend schedule.
• Ability to successfully complete required Government background, suitability, training, and onboarding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous professional telephone coverage during assigned overnight hours.
• Answer and properly route calls to appropriate VA personnel or services.
• Follow established procedures for urgent, emergency, and after-hours communications.
• Accurately document or relay information as required.
• Maintain familiarity with organizational contacts, telephone procedures, and escalation requirements.
• Protect confidential and sensitive information.
• Maintain readiness for unexpected operational events and staffing contingencies.
