Job summary

Butech Bliss in Ohio is seeking a Night Shift Superintendent to plan, direct, and coordinate night shift manufacturing operations across multiple facilities. You will plan materials and human resources to support plant production and ensure safety.

The role requires supervising night staff, reading production schedules, mentoring employees, and coordinating with other departments. Travel to locations as needed and maintaining company safety policies.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• Experience supervising manufacturing or machine shop staff.
• Lean or Six Sigma training/certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee night shift manufacturing operations across facilities.
• Supervise and schedule night staff, assigning duties.
• Coordinate inter-departmental activities and shifts.
• Read production charts, schedules and reports to determine requirements and evaluate outputs.
• Provide performance reviews and develop staff for growth.
• Enforce safety policies and company procedures on night shift.
• Coordinate onboarding/training of new night shift employees (OJT).
• Travel to customer, supplier, and site locations as required.

Night Shift Superintendent

Summary

Plan, direct, or coordinate night shift manufacturing operations of several facilities. Plan the use of materials and human resources on night shift in support of the manufacturing operations of the plants.

Essential Job Functions

• Oversee activities directly related to making products or providing services.


• Motivates, develops, and directs individuals as they work, identifying the best people for the job.


• Directs and coordinates activities of departments concerned with the production of products.


• Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.


• Supervises night shift staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties.


• Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities between departments and shifts.


• Conducts performance reviews of assigned staff.


• Recommends and executes corrective actions.


• Make recommendations to Plant Manager on night shift staffing requirements.


• Coordinate the OJT of new night shift employees.


• Enforces safe work practices.


• Complies with all Butech Bliss safety rules.


• Other duties as assigned by management.


• Travel to customer, supplier, job site, and company locations as required.


• Operate a personal or company-owned vehicle for business purposes.


• Transport documents, equipment, parts, materials, or other business-related items as needed.


• Maintain authorization as a Company Driver in accordance with company policy.

Education and/or Experience

• Associate’s degree in a technical discipline, or combination of education and experience.


• Additional training or education in management or supervisory principles.


• Training or certification in a Lean or Six Sigma discipline is preferred.


• Five plus years supervisory experience in manufacturing or machine shop environment.


• Experience in complex, heavy machines, or job shop environment.


• Proficient computer skills.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.


• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.


• Ability to work with limited supervision or assistance.


• Ability to work overtime.


• Valid driver's license required.


• Must meet and maintain Company Driver eligibility requirements and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).


• Must maintain required automobile insurance when operating a personal vehicle for company business.


• Ability to travel locally and occasionally overnight as business needs require.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to frequently sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, reach, push and pull.


• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
