Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company, located in Greenville, MS, is seeking a Night Shift Structural Welder Journeyman to plan, lay out, weld, install and repair structural steel per plans, specifications, welding codes and industry standards.

The role requires intermediate experience, the ability to work nights and weekends, and the use of welding machines and hand tools outdoors in all weather. You will read blueprints, follow procedures, and maintain safety while delivering quality work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with experience in welding or related field.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to read plans and blueprints and adhere to welding codes.
• Proficient use of hand tools and power tools in a safe manner.

Responsibilities

• Set up, troubleshoot and operate welding machines per job specs.
• Preheat and weld components according to blueprints and specs.
• Weld FCAW-S, FCAW-G, TGAW, GMAW, SMAW and SAW processes.
• Operate other industry machines and perform repairs as needed.
• Ensure quality and safety standards and document work accordingly.

Night Shift - Structural Welder Journeyman

Position Summary

Plan, lay-out, weld, install, and repair all types of structural steel products in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, welding codes and industry standards.

Experience Level

Intermediate

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

• Set-up, troubleshoot and operate welding machines according to job specifications and welding procedures
• Preheat and weld metal components as specified by blue prints, welding symbols, job specifications, or welding procedures.
• Weld various processes FCAW-S, FCAW-G, TGAW, GMAW, SMAW, and SAW
• Operate air arc gouger, grinder, stress relieving machine, and other industry machines, tools and equipment
• Make welding repairs and substandard welds

Qualifications

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safe and efficiently.

Requirements

• Able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must have all required tools
• Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft)
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
