Job summary

DIS-TRAN Steel in Pineville, LA is seeking experienced Welders to join our night shift. You will read blueprints, measure parts, and weld to AWS D1.1 standards while coordinating with crane operations to maintain a steady workflow.

The role requires welding certification or proven experience, the ability to produce high quality complete joint penetration welds, and a strong commitment to safety and precision on all structures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and read a tape measure required.
• Welding certification or prior welding experience with the successful passing of DIS-TRAN Steel’s Welder II test is required.
• Capable of producing complete joint penetration welds that meet all visual and ultrasonic inspection per AWS D1.1 structural steel welding code.
• Ability to produce high quality welds in all applications, with various material types; welds must be neat and within procedure.

Responsibilities

• Operates safety equipment and uses safe work habits.
• Positions, aligns, and welds parts to form complete structures per blueprints and layouts.
• Recognizes, sets up, and operates hand and power tools common to welding.
• Examines steel/workpieces to ensure specifications are met.
• Moves parts safely into position using hoists or cranes.
