Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital is seeking a Non-Certified CS/SPD Technician to clean and maintain surgical tools and ensure sterilized instruments are ready for procedures. This night-shift role (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM) offers hands-on learning and potential for certification within the organization.

You will handle case pulls, instrument handling, labeling, and high-level disinfection following AAMI ST79 standards, while contributing to teamwork and patient care on the Treasure Coast.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Sterile Processing certification due within 18 months after hire.
• Ability to use the computerized instrument tracking system.

Responsibilities

• Perform case pull functions and maintain instrument readiness.
• Scan, sort and inspect instruments for cleanliness and function.
• Assemble, wrap and label instruments according to lists and procedures.
• Ensure cleaning, decontamination, and high-level disinfection per standards.
• Monitor distribution of supplies and equipment.
• Complete record-keeping in the tracking system for processing and QA.
• Participate in in-service education and training.
• Build case carts using electronic preference cards and dispatch to locations.
