Job summary

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) seeks a part-time physician for CHS at Astoria, NY. Provide histories, exams, and manage care for new jail admissions with a focus on mental health services integration.

Candidates must be NY-licensed, with DEA/BCLS/ACLS, board-eligible or certified in a medical specialty, and 3–5 years related experience. EHR experience required; part-time Fri-Sun 4PM-12AM.

Qualifications

• Registered to practice medicine in the State of New York.
• Medical Specialty License or Certification.
• Board certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty.
• 3 to 5 years of directly related experience, including residency.
• Familiar with EHR.

Responsibilities

• Completes comprehensive histories and physicals on all new admissions.
• Diagnose and treating acute and chronic illness
• Evaluates the need for consult services and submitting the prioritized consult when indicated
• Reviews all on island/off-island specialty consult clinic and hospital returns.
• Evaluates the recommendations to ensure that the standard of care is met and implements the recommendations of the consultant
• Responds to emergencies and fire drills on a priority basis and in a timely and professional manner
• Be familiar with performance indicators (P.I.) and taking appropriate measures to comply with these standards
• Requests radiology exams, lab-tests, and EKGs when indicated and interpreting these results in conjunction with the patient’s clinical status
• Notifying Urgicare for 3 hour/EMS runs
• Generates medical modifications as needed
• Maintains clinical competency by reviewing CHS protocols, current medical literature and C.M.E.s
• Provides clinical supervision for P.A.s/N.P.s which includes co-signing of notes and medication orders
• Ensure that standard of care is maintained
• Attends all mandatory in-services
• Complies with and maintaining Employee Health requirements
