Job summary

Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Missouri seeks a capable RN to join the Surgical ICU team. You will provide patient-centered care for high-acuity, ventilated patients, coordinate with physicians, and ensure adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards.

The role emphasizes rapid assessment, precise documentation, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to support optimal outcomes in a 14-bed SICU environment.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required
• Experience with ICU patients and ventilated patients preferred
• Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately
• Strong communication and teamwork to coordinate care with physicians and staff
• Commitment to infection control and patient safety standards

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care per nursing process and hospital policies.
• Administers medications, monitors for side effects, and documents accordingly.
• Assists physicians during procedures within documented competency.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized care plans with the care team.
• Responds to medical emergencies and participates in CPR and code team activities.
• Educates patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, and discharge care.
• Maintains infection control practices and operates medical equipment safely.
