Job summary

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care including ventilator support and diagnostic procedures for both adults and neonates. The position requires BLS/ALS at hire, with ongoing certification milestones and Texas licensure.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited Respiratory Care program.
• BLS and ALS certifications required at hire.
• NRP/PALS certifications to be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• Texas license in good standing as Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist with NBRC.
• Minimum 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapies including oxygen administration, weaning, aerosol therapy, humidity therapy, IPPB, and airway maintenance.
• Conduct arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, PFTs, and ECGs as prescribed.
• Prepare treatment evaluations with bedside assessment and chart review.
• Interpret CXRs, ABG, and PFT data for patient care decisions.
• Operate and troubleshoot cardiopulmonary equipment and devices.
• Participate in infection control, safety, and quality assurance activities.
• Maintain and clean all cardiopulmonary equipment and work areas.

Education

Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program

Current Basic Life Support

Current Advanced Cardio Life Support

NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support — must obtain within 1 year of hire

Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner license in good standing

Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care
