Job summary

Norview Heights Rehabilitation and Nursing is seeking a Night Shift RN to provide direct nursing care and supervise day-to-day activities of nursing assistants. Ensure care aligns with Federal, State, and Local standards and maintain high-quality care under the Director of Nursing.

The role involves coordinating with healthcare teams, administering medications, patient education, discharge planning, and accurate documentation. SNF experience and leadership skills preferred.

Qualifications

• Virginia RN license required.
• BLS, First aid and CPR certifications required.
• 1+ year supervision experience in SNF preferred.
• Willingness to make a difference; compassionate demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and assess patient care plans with the healthcare team.
• Prepare and administer medications (oral, subcutaneous, IV) and record prescriptions.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
• Monitor equipment and interpret electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action when patients show adverse symptoms.
• Provide bedside care for medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, start IVs.
• Participate in discharge planning.
• Document care information concisely and timely.

Job Description:

Summary: Provide direct nursing care to the residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Such supervision must be in accordance with current Federal, State, and Local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may also be required by the Director of Nursing to maintain the highest degree of quality care at all times.

What you will do:

• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
• Prepare and administer (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records prescribed medications. Report adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures
• Record patients’ medical information and vital signs.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action whenever the patient displays adverse symptomatology
• Provide bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, starts IVs
• Participate in discharge planning.
• Record all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format, and on the appropriate forms.
